Watercolours
In autumn 2008, I produced my first watercolour box with 8 different types of coloured soil from the bauxite pit in my country of adoption – Otranto. I had great help from Thomas Rickert of Kremer Pigmente. In summer 2012 a new product followed: the watercolour box with soils from Zug. Now I proudly present the core part:
Watercolour box Aargau – 16 colours from the Canton of Aargau
With my friend, geologist André Lambert, I went on an expedition through the Canton of Aargau in summer 2014. We were looking for special stones and soils. The collected materials and the mineral pigments gained from them provide the basis of the watercolour box. The colour spectrum reflects the Canton of Aargau’s geological diversity. The mineral range of the colours is supplemented by the blue we find in the canton’s coat of arms and three organic colours: plum core black from Elfingen, Stil de Grain made from buckthorn berries from Wettingen and Argovian carrot orange.
