Museum Wiesbaden
The Wiesbaden Museum of Art and Nature is one of three museums belonging to the state of Hessen, Germany. The new permanent exhibition of the Natural History Collection opened on 8 May 2013.
Colour-Octagon with 120 pigments and dyestuffs
The exhibition Ästhetik der Natur and its themed rooms of form – colour – movement – time bring art and nature together. Exploring the history of earth and evolution, the exhibition illustrates nature and its enormous wealth of form and colour.
One of the key elements in this exhibition is the Colour-Octagon. 120 different dyestuffs offer an insight into the natural and cultural history of pigments and dyes. As an adviser to the Wiesbaden Museum I was asked to produce the colour samples for the octagon.
