This book is not about the blending of colours or the search for colour schemes or laws. What I’m interested in is the purity of the pigments and dyes used. I aim to understand how to show a dye to its best advantage, which binder I have to use to achieve the best results.
I regard this edition of 40 colour plates not as part of my art, but as part of my craft. They comprise 40 high-quality Kremer pigments produced to an excellent design painted with simple bristle brushes. Clear, monochrome colour plates, but no images.
